Matthew Schueller, Legislative Director

Matt’s experience and knowledge with the Michigan Legislature has equipped him with the necessary skills to address a variety of legislative and advocacy needs.

Prior to joining Acuitas LLC, Matt worked for the House Republican Policy Office for a year and a half, and advised the House Tax Committee, House Financial Liability Reform Committee, Joint Committee on Administrative Rules, and Department of Environmental Quality Appropriations Subcommittee. Matt previously staffed the Education Committee and School Aid, Department of Corrections, and Department of Education Appropriations Subcommittees. Previously, Matt worked as legislative policy director for Rep. Greg MacMaster, where his primary focus was on the Department of Corrections Appropriations Subcommittee. Before working for the legislature, Matt practiced law in New Jersey for a civil litigation firm, focusing on professional liability defense and insurance coverage issues. Matt clerked for a Civil Division Judge in the New Jersey Superior Court following law school.

Matt is a 2005 graduate of the University of Michigan with a B.A in History, and earned his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2008, where he was a Distinguished Scholar and associate editor of the Seton Hall Sports and Entertainment Law Journal.

Matt was born and raised in Charlotte, and currently resides in Dewitt with his wife Monica, daughters Mackenzie and Natalie, and dog Jackson.
